The Scout Promise

On my honour I promise that I will do my best

To do my duty to God and to the Queen

To help other people

And to keep the Scout Law

The Scout Law

A Scout is to be trusted

A Scout is loyal

A Scout is friendly and considerate

A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts

A Scout has courage in all difficulties

A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property

A Scout has self-respect and respect for others

The Scout Motto

Be Prepared

Scouts are aged 11 to 14 years old. (There can be some flexibility in these ages to allow young people to move from one section to another in friendship groups.) They belong to the oldest section of the Scout Group.

Scouts take part in a wide-ranging programme that is designed to provide a balance. These encourage them to find out more about the world in which they live and develops their own abilities, creative talents and personal fitness. Many activities take place outdoors and may include camping, survival, cooking and adventurous events like abseiling and boating. Scouts meet in a Scout Troop once a week.

Participation and achievement are recognised through a number of Challenge Awards and Activity Badges.

Scouts wear a uniform consisting of a teal green shirt or blouse, navy blue trousers or skirt with a leather Scout belt and a Group scarf and woggle.
