The Explorer Scout Promise

On my honour I promise that I will do my best

To do my duty to God and to the Queen

To help other people

And to keep the Scout Law

The Explorer Scout Law

A Scout is to be trusted

A Scout is loyal

A Scout is friendly and considerate

A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts

A Scout has courage in all difficulties

A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property

A Scout has self-respect and respect for others

The Explorer Scout Motto

Be Prepared

Explorer Scouts are aged between 14 and 18 years old. (There can be some flexibility in these ages to allow young people to move from one section to another in friendship groups.) They make up the fourth tier of the Scout family. Explorer Scouts meet together as a District  Explorer Scout Unit.

Explorer Scouts are encouraged to develop their own programmes and take part in a wide range of activities. They can participate in award schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh or Queen's Scout award.

Explorer Scouts can also take part in the Young Leader scheme and help to run a section in a Scout Group.

Explorer Scouts wear a uniform consisting of a beige shirt or blouse, navy blue trousers or skirt, Scout belt and Unit scarf.
