Welcome to the website for the South Chiltern Scout District. The District has six thriving Scout Groups offering a wide range of activities for young people aged six to 14. The District also has an active Explorer Scout Unit for those aged 14 to 18.

 

The South Chiltern District is in South Oxfordshire. It provides Scouting opportunities for those living in or near to Goring-on-Thames, Goring Heath, Henley-on-Thames, Shiplake, Sonning Common and Stoke Row.To find your nearest Scout Group, visit the Find a Group page.

 

We welcome enquiries from those wishing to join in Scouting, either as young people or as Adults. Please visit The Scout Family and Contacts pages for further information.

St George's Parade 2010

The next St. George's parade and service will be held on Sunday 18th April 2010 at Trinity church, Henley

New climbing eqipment

The District has purchased new climbing equipment. Leaders should contact Alan Howard if they would like to arrange a climbing evening.

£198 to charity

The District St. George's day service collection raised £198 for Teenage Cancer Care.

District Badge Secretary

Martin Dawes has taken over as District Badge Secretary.

District Treasurer retires

The District's Honorary Treasurer, Henry Lewis, received a thank you gift at 1st Henley's centenary barbecue after 27 years service.

Another Census Increase

The number of members in the South Chiltern District has increased for the third year in a row. During 2007, numbers increased by 11%.
